Brett Favre Figures Added to 2008 NFL Wave 3

Two Repaints of Brett Favre 4 Added to NFL Series

Source: McFarlane Toys — Posted 9/21/2008

McFarlane Toys has announced the addition of a Brett Favre New York Jets figure to the upcoming NFL 2008 Wave 3 lineup.

Shockwaves rippled throughout the NFL this summer when Green Bay traded their legendary quarterback to New York. It's a new start for one of the greatest quarterbacks of all-time, but the move itself isn't as unprecedented as you might think. We've had 42 Super Bowls in NFL history, and 27 different quarterbacks have led their teams to Super Bowl wins. Of those 27 quarterbacks, 11 have finished their careers playing for a different team. Favre joins Joe Namath, Johnny Unitas, Ken Stabler, Joe Montana, Jim McMahon, Jeff Hostetler, Mark Rypien, Kurt Warner, Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson as a Super Bowl winning quarterback who changed addresses while looking for another title.

McFarlane will be offering two different versions of the Favre figure. It will be available in New York's all-white uniform at all specialty and mass retailers that carry Sports Picks, with Toys 'R' Us receiving a green jersey Favre as a store exclusive.

NFL 2008, Wave 3 (including Clinton Portis, Marion Barber, Donald Driver and Jay Cutler) is scheduled to arrive on shelves right around New Year's Day in time for the NFL Playoffs.
